Looking back on our first week

In the print world, this might have been called From the Editors, a way to index the pages to come. On line, anticipation is already nostalgia. We reflect on what just happened.

Sacha Turchi

This prodigious artist/sculptor has graced use with her profile, her prolific work, “the interactions between individual and nature, body and psyche.”

Gordon Parks

One of the seminal figures of 20th century photography, often capturing a culture denied, was the first African American staff photographer and writer for Life Magazine, one of the most prominent photojournalist publications at the time. This was in the ’40s.

Cindy Sherman

Speaking of a different America, Cindy Sherman loans her strikingly subdued image for the reflections on the platitudes practiced on the Fourth of July, Visions of the Other America.

Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends

The first 21st-century retrospective of the artist, presents over 250 works across media from his six-decade career. At the Museum of Modern Art in New York, through September 17.

Luca Sola : Stimela Project

Photographer Luca Sola’s profile went up this week spanning several photographic series. You can meet him tonight (Thursday, July 13) at MAXXI Museum of 21st Century Art in Rome for his Stimela Project presentation, 7:30 – 9pm.

Fashion Makes Sense

Fashion meets art for the 9th Edition of Fashionclash Festival in Maastricht, NL. Catwalks, installations, performances, and of course, after parties. Makes sense.

Solène Ballesta

Her elegant profile just posted. A recent graduate with a Masters in Contemporary Art from the University of Paris, her works of lush imagery bridge art, studio & fashion photography.

Bill Phelps

Stunning images from this internationally acclaimed photographer. Profile plus his photo essay, Companion in Rome. A collaborator from the start, we will see more of him.

We were very excited for the launching of this website last week. Over 2000 visits / 8000 pages viewed. Each and every one of them a gift. Thanks to those who participated and shared.
