another week in review

The past week was suffered under the inferno of the heat wave dubbed Lucifer as we entered another circle of summer. Still no vacation for some of us. Here are the recent notables:

Long time friend and photographer Michael Crouser just released his new book after a decade of shooting around the Ranches of Colorado.

Art of the in-Between / The Met through September 4, 2017

The Costume Institute’s spring 2017 exhibition examines the work of fashion designer Rei Kawakubo, known for her avant-garde designs and ability to challenge conventional notions of beauty.

Astounding photography of Claude Iverné’s anthropological and poetic coverage of Sudan, on view at Aperture Foundation.

Contemporary Istanbul 2017

September 14-17, 2017 / Istanbul Congress Center

Considered one of the leading international art fairs in the region, Contemporary Istanbul pulled forward their annual fair from its usual November dates to coincide with its older sibling Istanbul Biennial.

PROFILE HIGHLIGHTS

Marc Lagrange’s expansive photography including many of his iconic works. Dod Procter, the painter whose name was often in the shadows of her artist husband now re-emerged. Leica Galleries, the legendary brand celebrating legendary photographers world wide. Doc! magazine publishing great photography, their forthcoming September issue on pre-sale now.
