Alba Yruela (b.1989) comes from the Catalonian región of Empordà, where she developed her passion for nature. Now based in Barcelona, she works in various formats shooting portrait work, still life, fashion editorials and film. Her work has been featured in publications such as Apartamento Magazine, Vogue, Lula or FT Weekend and has exhibited her most personal work in Paris, Los Angeles, London and Barcelona. She has currently published a dozen books, including her main and latest work Diaris 2009-2019, a beautiful and thoughtful testimony of her own intimacy. Where biographical recollection meets work that explores form, colour and light during a period of ten years. She started photographing her surroundings, friends and lovers from an intimate and delicate but direct point of view. Alba works in aspects and moments of a life that has not hesitated to put its richness, complexity, and fragility on display. Over the years, Alba has been driven by some obsession-like motives such as nature, the sky or sea, friendship, her partners or her solitude; the latter depicted in an exemplary and moving way in her multiple self-portraits.

    Time in my hands represents the first ever major retrospective exhibition for Leda Papaconstantinou (b. 1945), one of the most important artists in the history of contemporary art in Greece. For over almost five decades, Papaconstantinou developed a diverse body of work that took on a range of forms – performance, sculpture, video, site-specific installations, painting, etc. – in order to explore issues of gender, sexuality, collective and personal memory, history, politics and ecology, centred always on the body.
