Dislocations presents a contemporary update of Alex Webb’s 1998 book of the same name, long out of print and first published by Harvard’s Film Study Center as an experiment in the creation of alternative books.
The book brings together images from the most disparate places in Webb’s oeuvre, meditating on the photographic act as a form of dislocation in itself.
Webb returned to the idea of displacement during the pandemic by examining the images produced in the 20 years since the original publication.
