Florent Meng Lechevallier
Ascendance
Oct 29 – Dec 24, 2022
Fondation Manuel Rivera-Ortiz
Arles, France

The Ascendance program connects about fifteen artists offering unique perspectives on the notion of human rights. Human rights are the inalienable rights of all human beings, without distinction of any kind, including race, sex, nationality, ethnic origin, language, religion or any other status. Human rights include the right to life and liberty.

Ascendance characterizes this crossing of generations which generates and perpetuates traditions while having a character of progression, a desire for beneficial change in society on human rights, acceptance of others; only it refers to social behavior characterized by the tendency to dominate others, which plays on the ambivalence of our current society.

With the works of Zoé Aubry, Guillaume Delleuse, Isabelle Ha Eav, Pierre-Kastriot Jashari, Joanne Joho, Younès Klouche, Margot Lançon, Thomas Yaël Lopez, Florent Meng Lechevallier, Leslie Moquin, Laurence Rasti, Dorian Sari, Chloé Simonin and Francesca Todde.
