The Circ Artist Grants are open to emerging, mid-career, and professional artists in an international open call, several times throughout the year. The Circ Artist Grant provides unrestricted funding to artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art. Luigi Ghirri was born in 1943 in Scandiano, in the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy. He shares an interest for vernacular cultures with Walker Evans, by whom he affirms having been strongly influenced since 1977.
