Foteini Zaglara: Je est une autre
Sep 3 – Oct 9, 2023
Corinth Exposed Photography Festival
Corinth, Greece

The Cultural Foundation of the Piraeus Group (PIOP), in the context of the organization of the Corintian International Photography Festival 2023 and in collaboration with the Corinthian Photography Club and the Peloponnesian Institute of Arts, opens on Sunday, September 3, 2023 (at 12:00), the solo photography exhibition entitled Je est une autre by the award-winning photographer Fotini Zaglaras, at the Stymphalia Environment Museum.

The exhibition is a collection of self-portraits, which started in 2018 and continues. The distinguished artist at the Sony World Photography Awards 2022, notes: “Each anthropocentric photograph tells a story, revealing the different aspects of the personality, the subjective identity, of the individual.

The idea of the project is identified with the syntactic paradox of Arthur Rimbaud’s famous phrase, Je est un autre/ I am another, as through introspection we manage to “objectify” ourselves, experiencing our “being” as something detached from us. [ . . . ]

The intense presence of the directing element combined with the use of creative props, make up, and vintage clothing, enhance the narrative and drama of the images”.
