Federico Seppi
Ovunque casa / Federico Seppi
Nov 9, 2023 – May 15, 2024
AKdP & Boccanera Gallery
Rome, Italy

Ovunque casa is a solo-show dedicated to the celebrated sculpting artist Federico Seppi. The project stems from a strong human and artistic connection. Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera, Anna Kessler, and the artist discover within themselves the desire to bring their roots to Rome.

Seppi’s art is deeply intertwined with nature. His art celebrates the shapes, the materials, and the general territory where the three of them grew up: Trentino.

Trentino is a quiet place nestled in the middle of the Italian Alps. A land dominated by severe white peaks, forests, stones and teased out by majestic lakes. These are indeed some of the elements Seppi evokes through the elegance of his work. An elemental poetry made of natural materials and imbued with those atmospheres and silences.

The valley Val di Non plays a central role in the show. Not only is it the artist’s birthplace and current residence, but it is also where Anna spent many summers as a child, as it is where her mother’s family has her roots. The landscape of this special valley is also striking in itself, similar to a plateau in appearance, but unexpectedly crossed by dizzying rifts.

In the show, this land, also known as “the land of apples”, is related to the mother figure and takes on the features of childhood magic. And this is, perhaps, a place that does not exist in reality, but that is still real – even though it belongs to the imagination.

Home, “casa,” is the ideal the exhibition aims to explore.

The night of the opening the show will be accompanied by Luca Menenti at the Dj-set. Through an ambient selection, the musician will draw soundscapes with sci-fi textures, dystopian and cozy at the same time.
