Trillium Arts / Artist Residencies 2023
Various deadlines 2023
Trillium Arts
Mars Hill, NC, USA

Inspiration. Immersion. Seclusion. Natural Beauty. Trillium Arts is an artist residency center where artists of many disciplines can find a creative home away from home, offering secluded space for rejuvenation in a beautiful, remote setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our current facilities are best suited to the disciplines of literary arts, photography, visual arts and arts administration.

Individual artists who do not require a rehearsal studio (such as writers and photographers) are encouraged to apply for a one-week residency.

A residency at Trillium is a place and time where artists can go to work on their art. Residencies are research-and-development labs for the arts, providing artists with time, space, and support for the creation of new work and the exploration of new ideas. Supporting artist in the creation of new work is essential to human progress – not as a luxury, not as a leisure activity, but as a vital and necessary force in society. Artists’ residencies are not about retreat; they are about advancement. Advancing creativity. Advancing human progress. Advancing the way we examine the world.

Artpil periodically publishes submitted announcements of outside opportunities we do not administer. We recommend researching further prior to submitting, especially if entry fees are required.

  • Michela de Mattei & Toby Christian: Flash_Looking
    May 17 – Jul 5, 2024
    Belmacz
    London, UK

The phrase ‘flash-looking’ suggests something slick and shiny, a high-gloss finish, a smooth way of operating. Brought in dialogue, Toby and Michela’s artworks speak with and across each other with an anachronistic elegance (more…)
