Women of Meridione
Strength in the Deep South
Ornella Mazzola

Places with a strong soul, where the sea connects with the strength of women. In South of Italy passion and dignity along with spirituality and suspension can be seen through the cracks of the walls.

A selection of images from different projects that I carry out that represent women at different times and in various places.

My work focuses on southern Italy in general and on Palermo and the province in particular. The female universe interests me, in its various facets of life. The South, the rarefied province, the mysterious and strong women, the sea, the cracks, the life.

The deep south of Italy: Naples, Palermo, Taranto, the Sicilian coast of the Mediterranean Sea, these are the areas that I photograph.
