Mudam Luxembourg presents Worlds in Motion, a thematic presentation of works from the Mudam Collection that embody movement as a physical and perceptual event.

The phenomenon of movement – be it performed by a body or an object; witnessed by the eye or recorded by a camera – is an important theme within modern and contemporary art. Worlds in Motion draws on Mudam’s Collection, bringing together nine artists from different generations to explore this subject.

Artists include Robert Breer, Attila Csörgő, Dominique Gauthier, Jack Goldstein, Žilvinas Kempinas, Jochen Lempert, Michel Paysant, Miguel Ângelo Rocha, Conrad Shawcross.

There is no single or simple definition of a woman. I hope the different perspectives presented by our artists will inspire viewers to consider the plurality of the womanhood, and thereby encourage understanding and empathy towards those whose lives are shaped differently from their own.   • Portrait of a Man
