Featured Profile

Zahrin Kahlo is originally Moroccan but lives and works in Italy as a photographer and video artist. She pursued classical studies, receiving a degree in Foreign Literature. After graduating she began to travel fascinated by countries described by her favorite writers…Argentina, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Syria. These experiences triggered her love for photography and she decided to start Art Studies with a particular focus on Oriental Photography.

Her work is based on the double identity of a woman who has decided to no longer be the symbol of a single culture. The medium of photography becomes an ideal way to represent the intimate sphere of a woman, with all her ghosts, her fantasies and her complexes that are connected with images to the memories and the unconscious. A photography that wants to be vulnerable with the traces and signs of the time and all their imperfections.
