Zeynep Eda Gönen (b. 1997) graduated from Kadir Has University Department of Architecture. Currently, she is a student in the History of Architecture Master’s Program at Middle East Technical University, writing her thesis on photography. In 2022, she got accepted for the Erasmus+ Program at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville, where she continued her theoretical studies and improved her practical knowledge of photography.

In her thesis, Gonen is researching the intricate relations between realism, agency, and control in photographic representation and the spaces of photographic production, texts, and exhibition in the historical period after the rise of digital photography. In light of her theoretical knowledge of photography, Gonen practices capturing the mundane daily life with little twists, questioning the relationship between places, objects, and people.
