Heather Gaudio Fine Art specializes in emerging and established artists, offering paintings, works on paper, photography, and sculpture. The six group and solo exhibitions offered every year at the gallery space are designed to present important talent and provide artwork appealing to a broad range of interests. In addition to presenting our roster artists, the gallery provides a full range of art advisory services for new and seasoned private and corporate collectors. We assist in every step of the acquisition process, from forming to editing and developing a collection, to conservation, framing and installation. Our combined years of experience in the art world enables us to research, source and sell primary and secondary market material from national and international galleries, dealers, auction houses and private collectors. The focus is on each individual client, selecting art that best serves his or her vision, space, and resources.

    The images of American photographer Mary Ellen Mark are icons of documentary and humanistic photography. Focusing her camera on the socially disadvantaged and those on the fringes of society, she told the stories of her protagonists without prejudice. In the context of the emerging women’s movement in the USA during the 1960s and 70s, and as a freelance photographer at a time when print media was suffering its first major crisis, Mark fought her way to the forefront of female voices in photojournalism.     Edwynn Houk Gallery presents Mona Kuhn: Between Modernism and Surrealism, an exhibition of 7 solarized photographs by Mona Kuhn from her series Kings Road in dialogue with artworks by masters exploring surreal representation, including Man Ray, Láslzó Moholy-Nagy, Dora Maar, Erwin Blumenfeld, and Bill Brandt. The show is on view from April 4 – May 11, with an opening reception with the artist on Saturday, April 6 from 3-5pm. A walk-through of the exhibition with the artist and Darius Himes, International Head of Photographs at Christie’s, will begin at 4pm. (more…)

    The new NW is inaugurated with the opening exhibition Ritual in Transfigured Time, named after the 1946 short film of the same name by Maya Deren (Kiev, 1917–New York, 1961). Deren, whose life was driven by a desire for freedom, was a guiding light for us in devising the exhibition and film programme, as well as the principles of our revitalised organisation: dialogue, collaboration, experiment and the breaking down of boundaries.
