American artist Rashid Johnson stages a major new site-specific commission at The Power Plant. Ricocheting between the opposing walls of this narrow passage, these works are a continuation of Johnson’s series known as Anxious Audiences.
Jamie Hawkesworth was born 1987 in Suffolk, England. He initially majored in forensic science at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, but was introduced to photography through a class on crime scene documentation, changed majors, and graduated in 2009 with a degree in photography. After working as an assistant to a documentary photographer, he met Benjamin Bruno, a fashion stylist, and began working a as a fashion photographer. In addition to shooting campaign photos for J.W. Anderson since its Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 collection, he has shot for Loewe, which Anderson became creative director of in 2013, Alexander McQueen, miu miu and numerous other fashion houses. Primarily shooting editorials and promotional photographs for fashion brands, Hawkesworth produces unique and timeless work. He has received acclaim as one of the representative photographers of his generation.
