Mariya Kozhanova
Photographer

In my photography I am portraying people and places of my home region Kaliningrad in Russia, former Konigsberg. I am an analog, black and white, middle and small format photographer.

Moods and situations that are closer to fairylands than to reality find a contemporary setting in my photos. A kind of sensibility and a curiosity about characters lead to various long term photo series. I like to show the fragility and hidden beauty in our world. I am catching something that surrounds us every day, but needs to be carefully discovered. In my photos, I am offering the viewer to take part in the discovery of those sensitive views.
