Since childhood I have always had a creative and eccentric personality, with a very marked sensitivity. This allowed me to recognize my potential very early and to understand that I want to pursue an artistic career in my life.

To accomplish my dreams, I enrolled in an art school, where I earned a diploma in fashion design. Later I studied visual arts and I graduated in photography at IED in Turin with honors.

My school path allowed me to acquire knowledge in the intellectual field and technical skills, but what I consider really impactful are my passions, such as playing the piano, guitar, painting, dancing and studying theater and literature. They significantly affect my vision of the world and my work.

Photography, specifically self-portrait, is my main medium of expression and my images are colorful, intriguing, enigmatic and very often ironic. From a theoretical-conceptual point of view, these are strongly contaminated by my literary, artistic and philosophical interests; as for the aesthetics, my visual contents are often at the border between different discipline: a photograph and an illustration or a pictorial work.

Multidisciplinary is a key word in my art projects, since I combine several means of expression such as photography, art, fashion and theatrical performance. All together these mediums allow me to investigate current or shared themes in a creative and unique way.

    Sep 14 – Oct 28, 2023
    Efremidis
    Seoul, South Korea
Cécile Lempert’s paintings evoke a cinematic world of ambiguities, shifting between the tender and loving to the violent and eerie. Lempert’s first solo presentation with Efremidis oscillates between images of tactile proximity and emotional distance. Selecting imagery from a personal archive of film stills, family snapshots and borrowed details of European masters, she depicts moments of intimate or invasive touch, while looming close-ups capture the murmuring of a mind behind the closed door of a face.
