Melissa Renwick is an independent Canadian photojournalist and photographer based in Toronto, with a focus on documentary storytelling.
Hailing from the western prairies, Melissa obtained her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Mount Royal University before transitioning her focus to photography. She previously worked as a staff photographer for the Toronto Star and was named Photojournalist of the Year by the National Pictures of the Year in 2015.
Her work has been recognized by The Magenta Foundation, the News Photographers Association of Canada and COPA.
