Gazebook Photobook Festival

Gazebook, Sicily’s Photobook Festival with a mission to promote photography and the photo book form, is back for its third edition.

During the three days of the festival, visitors are invited to interact with authors, publishers and critics and other professionals in the field of photography.

Gazebook provides the opportunity to take part in editorial launches, talks, workshops, portfolio reviews, exhibitions and installations.

Free walk-in portfolio reviews may be conducted with professionals in informal settings on Sunday, September 10th from 4pm to 6:30pm, just before the last session of free lectures under the lighthouse at 7pm.

Workshops include Jason Fulford: A Million Preachers and Searching for the “Spot of Beauty” Curated by Maria Teresa Salvati.

Book Launch presentations include Monsanto by Mathieu Asselin, All Quite on the Home Front by Colin Pantall & Alejandro Acin, Exile by Vasantha Yogananthan, and others.

Exhibitors include Moises Saman, Karim El Maktafi, Cagdas Erdogan, Miro Kuzmanovic and Daria Addabbo, among others.

This cultural event rounds out the summer in an entirely open-air, informal and free environment by the lovely Mediterranean coast of Punta Secca.

This third edition is organized by Melissa Carnemolla and Teresa Bellina, with the Artistic Direction Lina Pallotta.

    “What is your name?” “Where are you from?” “How did you end up here?” “Can you feel it?” “Does it hurt?” With these and other questions, the American artist Adam Pendleton’s solo exhibition at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum sets up an elaborate call-and-response network that articulates a sense of history as fragmented poetics.
