Staged at Carriageworks, Sydney’s striking multi-disciplinary arts precinct, the Fair welcomes over 90 galleries from around the Pacific Rim with strong representation from Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

With a thriving contemporary art scene, Sydney is a dynamic cultural destination with an international reputation for presenting the very best in visual art through its leading commercial galleries, public institutions, private museums, festivals and Biennale. Alongside the galleries are curated sectors for contemporary video, installation art and performance as well as an ambitious program that includes engaging panel discussions, guided tours, educational workshops and an extensive VIP Program.     Cécile Lempert’s paintings evoke a cinematic world of ambiguities, shifting between the tender and loving to the violent and eerie. Lempert’s first solo presentation with Efremidis oscillates between images of tactile proximity and emotional distance. Selecting imagery from a personal archive of film stills, family snapshots and borrowed details of European masters, she depicts moments of intimate or invasive touch, while looming close-ups capture the murmuring of a mind behind the closed door of a face.
