After returning from years of war coverage, Peter van Agtmael tries to piece together the memory, identity, race, class, and family, in a landscape which has become as surreal as the war he left behind.
I chose photography as my profession after studying mathematics and computer science as my professional degree. The love of visualising art step by step, brought me to photography. I started to take photographs of everything around me, furthering my new skills by self-education. After, I gained more skills by professional training and workshops. Today I work as freelance photographer and photography workshop leader at Tumo Center for Creative Technologies.
