In Italy and the rest of the world, during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was an increase in the number of unwanted teenage pregnancies. It is considered that worldwide, 7.3 million teenagers become mothers each year, of which 2 million are under the age of 15.
The photo project “Un tempo, il nostro” aims to break down prejudices and show a delicate and fragile social condition that often needs understanding and help.
This is the story of Agata who became pregnant at only 17 years old. Her father, a young boy her age, when he learned this news, tried to commit suicide and then disappeared forever leaving Agata with a tough decision to make.
Agata decided to keep the child she named Achilles.
Agata’s story teaches that love for a child is universal and overcomes all obstacles.
