2020 / Turin, Italy
Pandemic Fashion is a project of self-portraits that investigate through photography, fashion and performance the effects of Coronavirus on the market demand in Italy during the first quarantine in 2020.
Through a careful market research on the basis of reliable data, the artist identified the items most purchased by people and I used them in the realization of twelve eccentric dresses, with which she portrayed myself. The dresses were sewn by the artist only recycled materials, and along with the accessories are the result of a huge research of styling. Even the poses, very theatrical, were studied in order to strengthen the meaning of the object represented.
Pandemic Fashion is therefore a multidisciplinary project in which coexist several forms of artistic expression, but at the same time it highlights very important issues from an historical and political point of view, such as sociological and psychological behavioral documentation and a research for a more eco-sustainable fashion.
