Yanitsa Genova is a photographer, born in 1994 and raised in Bulgaria. She loves to experiment, both in color and in black and white. She finds peace and quiet in photographing the still moments of everyday life. Her life passes in search of answers, reading and learning about the world.

Inspired by photographers and philosophers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastiao Salgado, Vivian Maier, Michel de Montaigne, Kierkegaard and Umberto Eco. She questions the dogmas associated with “automated” photography and encourages slow art, contemplation, truth and the origins of our reality.

    The exhibition Magazine was born out of the artist’s long-held desire to publish her own magazine – a very personal magazine that would nonetheless circulate further than just her own circle of friends. Maggie Lee’s passion for this medium of distribution was inspired by her work in copy stores, and above all by creating zines since her teenage years in New Jersey.     ‘Omo’ means child in Yoruba. In 2019, photographer Rubee Samuel self-funded a trip to Lagos to teach photography at two primary schools. Omo Nigeria is her first book and shows the results of her teachings and the portrait sessions: “These are the school portraits that were never taken of me; these were the classmates that I never had.” (more…)

    Flashback Habitat Ecosystem for Contemporary Cultures continues its path of experimentation and artistic research with the new exhibition Time Square: L’arte in piazza trascende il tempo. The exhibition takes inspiration from the famous square in New York, changing its name to Time Square, where the words “time” and “square” collide and recompose new meanings. The American square is the clear symbol of aggressive modernity and humanity in transformation. (more…)
