Yulia Gorodinski
Photographer

My name is Yulia Gorodinski. I was born in Belarus and in 1996 my family and I immigrated to Israel. While studying a degree in History and English Literature at University I became captivated by photography and began to focus on self-portraiture. I like being the model, the photographer and post editor. Most of my images are autobiographic. I like to express my feelings, things I experience through photography. Or I just simply enjoy creating, being inspired by light, locations, props and colors. Photography is my joy, and I feel blessed that I have discovered it. I went to music school when I was little to play piano, I went to study English Literature at University, and all because I liked it. But it wasn’t until I discovered photography and saw how passionate I was about it comparing to my other fields of interest mentioned above.

    London, UK
Surrogates, an exhibition of new work by Erwin Wurm, embodies the Austrian artist’s characteristically explorative approach to the concept of sculpture. Disrupting traditional distinctions between subject and object, the human and the non-human, spectator and participant, the exhibition renders the familiar unfamiliar through a playful treatment of the sculptural principles of ‘two- and three-dimensionality, mass, volume, skin and surface, movement and time.’ (more…)

    Black Cube
    Hooper, USA
Marguerite Humeau’s Orisons is a subtle, 160-acre earthwork that transforms an unfarmable plot of land in Colorado’s San Luis Valley into a place of reverence, honoring its expansive history, existing ecosystem, and imaginable futures. The work consists of the land in its entirety, as well as a series of eighty-four kinetic and interactive sculptures that invoke the land’s histories and vast network of interrelations. (more…)
  • Grey Crawford. Chroma, 1978–85, Vol 1

    Beam Editions

In 1978 Grey Crawford created a body of colour photographic work that was so radical in its aesthetic and technique that few people to this day understand how it was made. Chroma documents late 70s Los Angeles in a period of radical urban transformation. Scenes of vernacular architecture, demolition sites and everyday places are contrasted with graphic forms that float on the surface and sit within the image. (more…)
