Rasha Amin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Rome, Italy. Originally from Cairo, Egypt—a city rich in cultural heritage and deep historical roots—Amin grew up navigating a society shaped by traditional values and expectations. Like many Egyptian women, she faced societal pressures to conform to defined roles, yet she pushed forward, determined to break barriers and contribute to positive change.

Her passion for art emerged early in life, encouraged by her mother, who recognized and nurtured her talent. Rasha pursued formal education in Fine Arts at Helwan University in Cairo, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2003. During this time, she joined a community of passionate artists who painted weekly in Cairo’s historic districts, drawing inspiration from the city’s cultural landmarks and exhibiting their work in various art venues.

Eventually, Amin chose to follow her own creative path, working as an independent visual artist. To support herself, she took on work as a graphic designer, which became an integral part of her multidisciplinary approach. This experience allowed her to explore the intersection of visual communication and fine arts, gradually expanding her conceptual and artistic vocabulary.

Today, her body of work reflects a fusion of personal narratives, through storytelling, she aims to foster empathy and understanding across cultures and perspectives.

In 2018, Rasha moved to Italy after meeting her husband. They embarked on a new chapter together in southern Italy, working on an agricultural project cultivating pomegranates and producing extra virgin olive oil. In 2019, she founded her first art studio, La Casetta Bianca. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, she found herself isolated in a small town by the sea, surrounded by nature. This period of solitude became a deeply introspective time, which she channeled into her work. During this time, she created a compelling series of paintings, drawings, photographs, and animation video art, titled Solitude. For Amin, that chapter was a powerful opportunity to reconnect with herself and express transformation through art.

In 2022, she returned to Rome, drawn once again to its vibrant cultural landscape. There, she established her current studio, where she continues to develop her artistic projects. Her space also serves as a collaborative hub for both local and international artists—fostering dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange within the heart of Rome’s art scene.
