We enter the fall festival season with previews of Expo Chicago, Frieze London, & Berlin Art Week. Stay with us as we trace FIAC Paris, Art Toronto and Aesthetica short film festival just around the corner.

Welcome to our .064th edition of Prescriptions. Here is our review of the week in the arts.

New York Film Festival 56

This year’s program includes the Main Slate showcasing films from 22 countries, and a program including titles from celebrated auteurs, and features that wowed audiences at international festivals. Dora GarcíaNuri Bilge CeylanAlice Rohrwacher, and Julian Schnabel will be among those presented. September 28 – October 14 at Film Society at Lincoln Center.
