ARTPIL / Prescription .086
Drop by Caustic Drop

As silent as a mirror is believed
Realities plunge in silence by…I am not ready for repentance;
Nor to match regrets. For the moth
Bends no more than the still
Imploring flame. And tremorous
In the white falling flakes
Kisses are, –
The only worth all granting.

It is to be learned –
This cleaving and this burning,
But only by the one who
Spends out himself again.

Twice and twice
(Again the smoking souvenir,
Bleeding eidolon!) and yet again.
Until the bright logic is won
Unwhispering as a mirror
Is believed.

Then, drop by caustic drop, a perfect cry
Shall string some constant harmony, –
Relentless caper for all those who step
The legend of their youth into the noon.

Hart Crane / Legend

Welcome to the .086th edition of Prescriptions. Here is our review of the week in the arts.

Jim Campbell

Parallel Crossings / Artefact 2019

Human beings, nature, money, data, goods, all around us, everything is continuously in flux. Through factual and imaginary movements in time and space, worlds find their ever-changing forms. On view at STUK through March 19, 2019.

Renaud Wailliez

Les Nouveaux Chateaux Forts / Renaud Wailliez

Carried away by the routine of daily life, we often pass by these towers without seeing them. What if these dungeons of modern times with their intriguing architecture enclosed some secret life? At Galerie Claude Samuel through March 24, 2019.

Jem Southam

The Long White Cloud / Jem Southam

In 2018 Jem Southam made his first overseas trip to produce his latest body of work in New Zealand. These images are the result of a journey around the North and South Islands, first ever exhibited. Through March 9, 2019 at Huxley-Parlour Gallery.

Annie Ratti

Annie Ratti: Anargonia

Through her research and works, Annie Ratti attempts to highlight the inherent unison between nature and artefact, and explores the multiplicity of methods by which this relationship may be manifested. On view through March 3, 3029 at Amanda Wilkinson Gallery.

Karl Lagerfeld

Homage To Karl Lagerfeld

Lagerfeld whose multifaceted personality helped set the fashion industry’s standard for five decades, died last week. This exhibition is In homage to one of the great Renaissance people of our time. At Galerie Gmurzynska through May 15, 2019.
